Terms of use & community rules

DhakaHype lists events and places in Dhaka collected from organisers, public websites, ticketing platforms and our users. We are not the organiser, promoter, venue, seller or ticket agent of any event or place listed, unless we clearly say otherwise.

Event details — dates, times, prices, line-ups, venues, opening days — can change or be cancelled at any time and may be wrong. Always confirm with the organiser or venue before you go or pay. Tickets are bought from third parties under their terms; refunds, cancellations and disputes are between you and them.

• You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity on your account.
• You must be at least 13 to use the Service, and at least 18 to use “Find people to go with”.
• Give accurate information and don't pretend to be someone else.

These apply to reviews, buddy plans, requests, event submissions and anything else you post (“your content”):

• Be respectful. No harassment, hate speech, threats, bullying or sexual content.
• Be honest. No fake reviews, fake events, scams, or reviews of events you didn't attend.
• No spam, advertising or selling in reviews and buddy plans (use our partner page to advertise).
• Don't post other people's personal information without their permission.
• No illegal activity, and nothing that breaks Bangladeshi law.
• Buddy plans are for meeting up for events and hangouts — not dating services, paid companionship or anything unsafe.
• Don't ask anyone for money, OTPs, passwords or financial details.

We may remove content, hide plans or suspend accounts that break these rules, at our discretion and without notice. Please report anything that worries you with the “Report” link.

“Find people to go with” helps people discover others going to the same event or hangout. We do not verify identities, check backgrounds or supervise meet-ups. You decide whether to accept a request, share your contact details or meet anyone, and you are solely responsible for those decisions and your own safety.

Meet in busy public places, tell a friend where you're going, and leave if anything feels wrong. If you are in danger, contact the police (999 in Bangladesh) first, then tell us.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, adapt (for example resize a poster) and share your content on the Service and in our emails and social media posts promoting it. You confirm you have the right to post it — for example, that you're allowed to share an event poster.

• Don't scrape, copy or resell the Service in bulk, except through our public API and feeds, with credit to DhakaHype.
• Don't try to break, overload or get around the security of the Service.
• Don't use the Service to send spam or to collect other people's data.

Paid placements are always labelled “Sponsored”. Sponsors are responsible for their own content and events; a sponsorship isn't a recommendation or guarantee by us. Paid partnerships are governed by a separate written agreement.

Volunteer internships are unpaid and do not create an employment relationship. Certificates and appreciation gifts are given at our discretion to volunteers who complete their agreed role.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no promises that the Service or any information on it is accurate, complete, up to date, uninterrupted or error-free, and we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. Weather, traffic (“Jam-o-meter”) and travel estimates are rough guesses only.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DhakaHype and its team, volunteers and partners are not liable for:

• anything that happens at or on the way to an event or place listed on the Service — including injury, illness, loss or theft of property, crowd incidents, or cancellations;
• tickets, payments, refunds or disputes with organisers, venues or ticket sellers;
• the behaviour of other users or anyone you meet through the Service, online or in person;
• errors, changes or missing information in listings, or decisions you make based on them;
• third-party websites and services we link to;
• any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or loss of profits, data or goodwill.

If we are found liable for anything despite these terms, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or BDT 1,000.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you posted, how you used the Service, or your breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

We may change or stop any part of the Service, and update these terms. We'll change the date at the top; using the Service after that means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Dhaka have jurisdiction over disputes. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
