Curzon Hall & Central Shaheed Minar
Shahbag & Ramna৳
Curzon Hall's red-brick Mughal-meets-European arches, and a short walk away the Central Shaheed Minar, the national monument to the 1952 Language Movement martyrs. The Dhaka University campus around them is full of cha stalls and student life.
Dhakeshwari National Temple
Old Dhaka৳
Bangladesh's national temple and one of the oldest in Dhaka. During Durga Puja it's the city's most famous mandap.
Dhanmondi Lake & Rabindra Sarobar
Dhanmondi৳
A tree-lined lake that winds through the middle of Dhanmondi, with a walking path, benches and Rabindra Sarobar — the open-air stage that hosts concerts, poetry and cultural programmes. The classic place for an after-class adda.
Diabari
Uttara৳
Open fields and lakes at the edge of Uttara. In autumn (roughly September–October) the banks turn white with kash flowers and the whole city comes for photos; it's also on the metro line, so it's easy to reach.

Hatirjheel
Hatirjheel৳
Dhaka's lake-and-bridges loop: wide walkways, curving overpasses, water taxis gliding between the banks and the amphitheatre where runs, concerts and festivals happen. After sunset the bridges light up and the whole place turns into one long evening walk.
Jamuna Future Park

One of South Asia's biggest malls: hundreds of shops, a huge food court, a cinema and indoor play zones. A rainy-day or hot-day classic.
Lalbagh Fort

An unfinished 17th-century Mughal fort with the tomb of Pari Bibi, a three-domed mosque, gardens and a small museum in the Diwan-i-Aam. Dhaka's most photogenic slice of history.
Liberation War Museum

A powerful, well-designed museum telling the story of 1971 through photographs, personal belongings and testimony. Also hosts screenings, talks and exhibitions.
National Botanical Garden

Over 80 hectares of trees, ponds, glasshouses and quiet paths — the biggest green escape inside the city.
